Garage Door Opener Parts Information

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

There are some things that are worth investing into. You know, those things that make your life way easier. And the truth is that the little things count. For instance, why strain yourself lifting that heavy garage door after getting from a tiresome day at the job when you can always use a garage door opener?

And from the wide range of openers available, one of the most popular of them all is the remote operated Genie garage door opener. You will be able to open the door of your garage just by sitting inside your car, you will never have to get out of it.

Installation is not very difficult either. For an ambitious person with some mechanical skills and a set of tools, it should be a walk in the park, especially since the manuals that all Genie openers come with are really good and provide with plenty of information. If you still are not sure about what you are doing, how about calling a friend or a neighbor over to help?

The Genie garage door opener is built in such a way that it meets all the security guidelines, so the protection of your garage is guaranteed. An interesting and undoubtedly useful feature is the automatic reversal system. This means that whenever the door of the opener encounters an obstacle for more than 3 seconds, it will turn back on its tracks. For even more additional security, a vacation lock is incorporated into the opener.

This is a short summary of the most important features of the Genie garage door opener. It is certainly a very viable option for your garage, so make sure that you take it into serious consideration.

Genie Door Opener Parts

One of the biggest manufacturers of garage door openers is Genie.  They would probably be the most trusted name out there.  What alot of people do not know is that Genie was actually bought by Overhead Door Corporation in 1994.  If you live in a city like mine they would most likely be the company that would install your garage if you were building one brand new.

I am a big fan of Genie Garage Door Openers.  I personally have one and love them.  I can always find garage door opener parts for them either at a dealer or online and their customer warranty is good as well.

One great thing I like about Genie is that they are super quiet.  They do not make a lot of noise.  Some of the models barely make any.  They also have this self diagnostic system installed into it that reverses the garage door when interrupted.

One thing that I did not know about the product line is that they sell different models for Do It Your Selfers vs if you have it installed.  The Do It YourSelf Products are usually found at Lowes, Home Depot, or Sears.  They are going to be a Direct Lift, PowerLift, or QuiteLift model.

If you are going to get them installed by a dealer then you will get the Excelerator, Pro Stealth, Pro Max, Screw Driver, ChainLift, or Chain Glide model.  The model you get will depend on your needs.  You can find the closest dealer near you by going to their Dealer Locator Site.
